Marble – Luxury, elegance and unique veining
Marble is the symbol of luxury and timeless elegance. Thanks to its characteristic veining and colour variations, no two marble slabs are the same. Whether it’s a classic Calacatta kitchen worktop, a chic Nero Marquina floor or a striking Onyx wall cladding – marble gives any space an exclusive character.
Origin
Marble is formed from limestone that crystallises under high pressure and temperature. It is quarried worldwide, but a few countries are famous for their marble types:
- Italy – Calacatta and Nero Marquina (Spain) are among the most sought-after types of marble.
- Spain – Emperador and Breccia, loved for their warm colours and veining.
- Brazil – Known for special white marble varieties with a crystalline sheen.
- Onyx marble – Comes from, among others, Pakistan, Mexico and Turkey, and is unique for its transparency.
Popular types of marble
- Calacatta (Gold, Oro, etc.) – White with bold, broad veins in grey or gold. Luxurious and exclusive.
- Emperador (Dark / Light) – Brown marble with fine white veining, warm and atmospheric.
- Breccia (Oniciata, Sarda) – Layered structures with varied colours, decorative and unique.
- Nero Marquina – Deep black marble with white veining, sleek and stylish.
- Brazilian marble (Branco Cintilante, White Crystal) – Crystal-clear white with sparkling inclusions.
